CHALLENGE From 2006 Season for all our
handy Halloween and Haunt prop
creators out there will
be something everyone can
participate in! This year we are
looking for the most
 imaginative, effective
and clever original animatronic prop.
The best overall
takes the prestigious 1st Place Haunt X Award trophy at the
Haunt X
Awards Pageant. Costs
nothing to enter. |

ORIGINAL ANIMATRONIC RULES ARE:
|
 |
|
1) Animatronic must be for personal use. Not a product for
sale. |
|
2) Prop may be similar to others, but must feature some
unique design element, demonstrably setting yours apart. |
|
3) Prop must be your original handiwork, not something
given to you or largely made for you by another. |
|
4) There are no limitations to how many animations each
prop may feature. |
|
3) Prop must have either human, or power-driven animated action (s). |
|

| There are
no age or other limitations for
participation. Anyone may enter one
or more of their own creations as
long as each animatronic is unique. Entrants may submit their own creation of
any inspirational origin (regardless of who originated the design). Entry is
allowed on behalf of the creator (maker) who may not be present during the
contest ceremony. If prop uses air, you must bring your own!
Limit TWO entries per person due to space limitations.

To qualify to enter the CHALLENGE, you
must submit clear explanations on how your creation works, complete with a
photograph and/or a short video clip of it's resultant animations. This may be
submitted to us through
email or via
snail mail
up until the actual date of the
show. Entries must be physically surrendered to Haunt X
CHALLENGE officials at least 1
hour prior to our live competition
to be held during the
Haunt X Awards Pageant night at Haunt X
2007, L.A.

 A panel of of judges assembled from our sponsors,
including the widely recognized Hollywood film industry animatronic maker David
Brandon (from our featured GothicAtrocity Museum of Horror and Sci Fi event at
this year's show) and will return the verdict live during the
ceremony to determine the
competition's outcome. Winner will be given the amazing opportunity to possibly
earn an audition personally for a puppeteer job with some of the biggest
directors and film makers in Hollywood film! As an added bonus, judge Brandon
has agreed to bring in to the CHALLENGE for display (and
for sale) arguably one of the most advanced animatronic special effects
ever used in a Horrorwood film, the actual puppet head of the terrifying
Goliath
the film VIRUS
as seen on the left of this text. |
